Who we are

Ypassmate is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us at contact@dalim.dev.

What we collect

• Account details: name, email, phone, password (hashed), and for instructors an ADI badge number.
• Optional profile data: photo, postcode, home address, gender, car details, bio, test date.
• Activity: bookings, availability, lesson notes, reviews, messages, mileage entries, payment records your instructor enters.
• Technical: a device push token (if you enable notifications) and basic app logs.

Why, and our lawful basis

• To run the service (bookings, messaging, progress) — performance of a contract.
• Search and matching — we geocode your postcode to coordinates via postcodes.io; legitimate interests.
• Notifications and emails about your bookings — contract / legitimate interests; you can turn push off.
• Safety — handling reports and blocks; legitimate interests and legal obligation.

Who we share with

• The instructor or learner you book or message with (name, phone, and the details needed for the lesson).
• Processors acting on our instructions: our email relay (transactional email), object storage for photos, and Expo’s push service. Geocoding uses postcodes.io.
• We never sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.

Sharing you control

If you generate a “share progress with a parent” link, anyone with that link can see a read-only summary (no contact details or payment information) until you turn it off. Referral links only reveal your first name to someone who opens them.

Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account we remove your personal data promptly; some records may persist briefly in backups before they expire.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data. In the app, More → Account → Privacy & data gives you a full JSON export by email and a permanent-delete option. You can also email us. You have the right to complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
